1. airdrome: a military air base.
2. cowling: the removable metal housing of an aircraft engine, often designed as part of an airplane's body, containing the cockpit, passenger seating and cargo but excluding the wings.
3. pylons: towers marking turning points in a race among aircraft.
4. slipstrings: supports for a structure such as an aircraft wing, roof or bridge.
