Adventures in Reading with Boy Scouts of America

 

 

 

The Boy Scouts of America Adventures in Reading event was held in Zanesville, Ohio on July 3rd in coordination with the Muskingum Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America as part of their Centennial celebration and as the start of the L. Ron Hubbard Centennial.

 

Adventures in Reading included a live "Readers Theater" performance of "The Last Drop" by Hollywood stars Josh Robert Thompson and John Mariano, accompanied by local WHIZ TV meteorologist Brian Wagner. Mayor Zwelling of Zanesville welcomed everyone to this event after being introduced by Josh Robert Thompson, as Governor Schwarzenegger.

 

The day's activities included a presentation of the reading merit badge and belt loops to attending Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Other activities included a historical re-enactment, giant inflatable obstacle course, inflatable bounce house, ham radio station, monkey bridge, magic show, sack race, books, hamburgers and ice cream.
